Russian travelers will be able to fly directly to 42 countries in autumn 2026, according to seasonal flight schedules reported by news agency RIA Novosti.
The non-stop flight network includes all five Central Asian nations, offering direct connections to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Passengers can also access direct flights to European destinations, specifically Serbia and Belarus.
RIA Novosti is a major state-owned news agency headquartered in Moscow that routinely reports on transportation and aviation updates. European flight options have become increasingly focused on transit hubs such as Belgrade and Minsk following changes in regional airspace rules.
The schedule details extensive direct options across Asia and the Middle East. Travelers can fly non-stop to Abkhazia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Georgia, Indonesia, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Myanmar, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. Direct services are also operational to China, North Korea, and Mongolia.
The listed destinations include major commercial and tourist hubs across the Persian Gulf and Southeast Asia. Countries such as Turkey and the United Arab Emirates serve as primary international transit corridors and holiday destinations for travelers from Russian regional airports.
Upcoming airline route expansions
Several foreign carriers plan to launch or resume routes to Moscow in the coming months. Kuwaiti low-cost carrier Jazeera Airways plans to resume flights between Moscow and Kuwait from mid-September. Pakistani airline Fly Jinnah is scheduled to begin flights connecting Moscow and Islamabad on October 1, while Algerian national carrier Air Algerie plans to start flights to Moscow on October 2.
Jazeera Airways is a budget airline operating out of Kuwait International Airport, serving destinations across the Middle East and South Asia. Fly Jinnah operates as a low-cost carrier based in Pakistan, while Air Algerie is the state-owned flag carrier of Algeria, operating routes across Africa, Europe, and Asia.
Russian charter airline Azur Air also plans to expand its service network in November. The carrier will open direct flights to Sri Lanka operating from eight cities across Russia.

African connections and passenger preferences
Direct flights are also available to six countries in Africa. Travelers can fly non-stop to Egypt, Ethiopia, Morocco, Seychelles, Tanzania, and Tunisia.
The updated flight options follow earlier data on passenger habits showing that Russian travelers strongly dislike layover flights and usually take checked luggage with them on trips. According to the findings, 51 percent of Russian travelers consistently prefer non-stop flights over connecting itineraries.
Leisure travel to North African resorts historically peaks during the autumn and winter months as travelers seek warm-weather destinations. Direct long-haul flights eliminate transfer times and reduce the risk of lost luggage during multi-leg journeys.
