Comparing her own appearance to that of local residents, Ershova recalled standing beside her vehicle after a long road trip while wearing an old t-shirt that she felt belonged in the trash. She remarked that a local woman stepped out of her home looking as though she were ready for an immediate photo shoot.

In an earlier blog post, she warned that the country is not a place where visitors can walk around carelessly with smartphones in hand, count money openly in the street, or drop their awareness.
