Rachel Uchitel is recovering in a luxury New York hotel suite after undergoing a 9.5-hour plastic surgery makeover to reverse previous cosmetic treatments.

Rachel Uchitel is currently healing from an extreme plastic surgery makeover which included a deep-plane facelift, a brow lift and more

The 51-year-old star underwent six distinct surgical procedures during the operation, including a deep-plane facelift, a tightening brow lift, an under-eye fat transfer, a chin implant, a columella nose revision and extensive facial filler dissolving. She was operated on by board-certified celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Ira Savetsky, who was recently named one of America's best cosmetic doctors by The Hollywood Reporter.

Speaking to The Daily Mail from her recovery suite, Uchitel explained that she sought the comprehensive overhaul after years of facial fillers and laser treatments left her face looking puffy and older than her years. "I'm 51 and I'm not trying to defy Mother Nature or look like a different person. I simply wanted to look like a fresher, more natural version of myself," she said.

Uchitel revealed that her earlier attempts to prevent aging had backfired over time. "I realized that some of the things I had done over the years to avoid ageing, particularly fillers, had actually begun to age and distort my face," she explained. Prior to the surgery, she spent two weeks having filler dissolved, though Dr. Savetsky still encountered a significant amount of residual filler and scar tissue during the procedure. She also noted learning that certain laser and energy-based treatments can contribute to tissue changes and scarring.

To help guide her surgical team toward her former features, Uchitel dug up pre-surgery photographs of herself to use as reference points, including old tabloid magazine covers from her headline-making 2009 affair with professional golfer Tiger Woods. "I had to use those photos for examples of what I used to look like before fillers," she laughed. The journalist, who currently hosts the hit podcast Miss Understood with Rachel Uchitel, said she chose to document her recovery journey publicly on social media to show fans the reality of cosmetic procedures in 2026. "I want women to see what happens between the polished before-and-after photographs, including the swelling, bruising, discomfort and emotional side of recovery," she added.

Celebrity Support and Industry Trends

Her social media recovery videos have drawn supportive comments from several media personalities and celebrity friends. Former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Siggy Flicker wrote, "You look so gorgeous already. Wow! Hope you have a speedy recovery." Fellow RHONJ alum Margaret Josephs commented, "How is it possible you will be even more gorgeous! Feel better and rest." Former Girls Next Door star Crystal Harris also praised her openness, commenting, "So beautiful and open and honest and raw."

Facelift procedures have exploded in popularity in recent years, particularly after television personality Kris Jenner underwent a SMAS-based facelift and deep neck lift performed by Dr. Steven Levine. Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeon Dr. Deepak Dugar, known for his signature scarless nose jobs and whose clients include Sami Sheen and Mia Khalifa, told The Daily Mail that patients increasingly seek out deep-plane and SMAS-based facelifts for their natural results.

"I think deep-plane facelifts have become so popular because patients are asking for a different kind of result now," Dr. Dugar explained. "They want real rejuvenation, but they still want to look like themselves." He noted that instead of relying primarily on pulling the skin tighter, a deep-plane facelift repositions the deeper tissues of the face, allowing the skin to settle more naturally and reflecting an industry movement toward a refreshed appearance. Dr. Dugar added that this natural approach has extended to other procedures like rhinoplasty as well.

Previous Cosmetic Procedures and Wedding

The Florida-based personality has explored various cosmetic treatments since celebrating her 50th birthday. Less than a year before her facial surgery, in January, Uchitel revealed she had received non-surgical sculpting injections in her buttocks just one week before her wedding to Palm Beach-based security CEO Dan Donovan.

Uchitel originally sought a traditional Brazilian butt lift (BBL), a procedure where fat is transferred from other body areas to the buttocks. However, top surgeons informed her she lacked sufficient body fat for the procedure. "What I wanted was a skinny BBL - nothing overdone, nothing dramatic. Just a little more lift and shape so I looked fit and athletic," she explained on Instagram. Despite exercising at least four times a week before her wedding, she turned to celebrity surgeon Dr. Robert Dorfman in New York for injectable sculpting options.

Uchitel became a media sensation after her relationship with Woods was exposed. With attorney Gloria Allred in LA in 2009

"Literally a week before my wedding, I flew to New York, walked into his gorgeous office, and in less than 30 minutes I had a new butt," she wrote, describing the non-incisional, painless procedure as lasting about three years and calling it "worth every penny." She added: "My butt hasn't looked this good since I was 21 - and I'm 50! And I can attest, as can my husband, this butt feels completely real."

Uchitel and Donovan tied the knot in a lavish three-day New Year's Eve ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida. The bride wore $1 million worth of diamonds and jewelry from Nini Jewels and The Watch King's Moshe Haimoff before 130 guests. The wedding guest list featured notable public figures such as former Real Housewives stars Jill Zarin and Kelly Dodd, comedian Heather McDonald, radio personality Paige Davis, and MTV star Bam Margera.

Media Infamy and Personal History

Before launching her media career as a former Bloomberg News journalist and former VH1 television star, Uchitel experienced tragedy when her fiancé, James Andrew O'Grady, died during the September 11 terrorist attacks. She later married Wall Street trader Steven Ehrenkranz in 2004, a marriage that lasted four months. Her second marriage, to former football player Hahn, lasted three years before their 2014 divorce; the two now co-parent their daughter, Wyatt Lily, amicably.

The former VH1 star currently hosts her own hit podcast called Miss Understood

Uchitel first shot to international infamy in 2009 as the original mistress of Tiger Woods after their affair was exposed by media outlets, leading to a public scandal in which Woods admitted to cheating on his wife with more than 120 women. During the height of the coverage, she appeared publicly in Los Angeles with high-profile attorney Gloria Allred. Uchitel was also linked to actor David Boreanaz in 2010. Today, she hosts her podcast while documenting her post-surgery healing process in New York.
