Two tourists from Moscow were robbed of 120,000 rubles from their luggage while traveling on a Flydubai flight to the Maldives.
The married couple discovered that their baggage had been broken into and their cash, held in both rubles and euros, was stolen upon arriving at their destination.
The pair was traveling to the island resort with a scheduled layover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. After landing in Male, the capital city of the Maldives, the victimised passengers filed an official report with airport law enforcement officers. However, an investigation into the robbery has failed to make any progress over the past month and a half, according to the Russian Telegram news channel Baza.
Baza reported that Flydubai replied to the couple's formal complaint with an automated form response. The airline expressed gratitude for their patience while recommending that they check their flight status, update their contact details, and contact the customer call center. The channel noted that the carrier has made no subsequent effort to communicate with the affected passengers.
Airline baggage security concerns

The theft comes after another reported incident involving air thieves on the same carrier. In a previous case, thieves stole 850,000 rubles from the carry-on baggage of a Russian passenger traveling on a Flydubai flight to the United Arab Emirates. The passenger, identified as Arnold from Kazan, explained that he was flying from Istanbul in Turkey to Dubai when his cash was taken from his hand luggage.
