Molly Smith announced her newlywed status to an entire airplane of passengers after losing a bet on a flight to Manchester on Friday. The reality star was travelling home with her husband Tom Clare following their 10-day wedding celebration in Mallorca.
The couple held their second wedding ceremony last weekend at Son Marroig, a 17th-century marble temple overlooking panoramic sea views on the Spanish island. After a week of celebrating with friends, the group headed to the airport for their flight home.
The tannoy announcement came after Molly lost a game of Uno while waiting at the departure gate with fellow Love Island stars Sophie Piper, Joshua Ritchie, Casey O'Gorman and Mitch Taylor.
Boarding the same plane as Sophie and Josh, Molly took over the aircraft address system while her friends recorded the moment. "Everyone can I just have your attention please," she began over the microphone.
"I hope you all had the best holiday, I did because I just got married," Molly told passengers before showing off her wedding ring as the crowd cheered in congratulations.
Turning around in hysterics, she teased her friend: "See Josh that's how you do a bet."
Post-Wedding Tattoos and Airport Celebrations
The flight home followed a final night of boozy celebrations that left several members of the wedding party with permanent souvenirs. Earlier in the day, Sophie, 27, revealed she woke up hungover with a tequila tattoo on her foot after getting drunken ink on a night out in Mallorca.
Sophie complained in social media comments that her tattoo ink was "so thick," prompting former co-star Mitch to joke: "What is wrong with us?"
Tom, 26, also joined in the fun by getting his first tattoo on the final night of the 10-day trip. "Last night vibes! What an unbelievable 10 days, married my sole mate and made memories to tell the grandkids! Magical. Oh, and got my first tattoo," he wrote on social media.
Mitch's girlfriend Hayley Griffin posted a photo of the group showing off matching tattoos at the airport. "And this basically sums up how we ended the wedding week," she quipped.
Luxury Venue and Guardia Civil Intervention
The couple's wedding took place at Son Marroig, a historic venue popular among couples marrying in Mallorca where destination weddings typically cost around £10,000 (€11,682). Molly welcomed her guests onto the terrace for a candle-lit wedding breakfast while watching the sunset.
For the main ceremony, Molly wore an elegant beaded bridal gown, while Tom dressed in a white tuxedo. The couple first met and began dating after appearing together on the All Stars edition of Love Island in 2024.
The evening celebrations moved to the Suculenta Port de Sóller restaurant at the nearby harbour. Local yacht crew in the harbour reportedly grew irritated by the noise and disruption, eventually calling the Guardia Civil police force to the scene.
Racing driver Seb Melrose, 28, later explained that officers issued a warning to the wedding party for jumping into the port waters, which is prohibited under local regulations.
Despite the police intervention, the bride remained unfazed. Social media posts showed Molly serving shots, cosying up to her new husband, and jumping into the sea alongside their guests.
Best man Casey stripped down to tiny Speedos while leering gormlessly at the police officer in images shared by Mitch, who expressed his love for his friend. Guests documented the remainder of the evening on social media as the party swigged drinks and swam in the water.
