Spanish footballer Lamine Yamal repeatedly sent his breakfast back at the Four Seasons Hotel in Madrid, frustrating waiting staff and leaving his girlfriend, Inés García, embarrassed, according to witnesses cited by the Spanish outlet Cool.
The couple visited Dani Brasserie, the restaurant inside the five-star hotel, arriving at around 9am and staying for close to two hours, according to the Telecinco programme El verano se mueve, which cited the same witness accounts.
Eggs benedict sent back several times
García ordered an egg-white omelette, while Yamal chose eggs benedict with toast. The witness quoted by Cool said he sent several dishes back to the kitchen because he was not satisfied, calling it quite a morning for staff.
According to the witness, Yamal did not like how his eggs had been cooked and asked for the dish to be remade. Kitchen staff obliged, but he sent the plate back again, saying the seasoning was not right.
He then turned his attention to the toast, which he considered undercooked, and it was replaced. But by the time the new toast arrived, he asked for another round of eggs, because the first batch had already gone cold, the witness said.
The witness described the back-and-forth of plates as almost seeming like a joke, though restaurant staff reportedly did not find it funny, referring to the requests as caprichos, or whims.
"She looked embarrassed"
Cool also reported that Yamal's manner of complaining was not always the most appropriate towards restaurant staff. The same sources were more forgiving of García, describing her as very nice and pleasant with the waiters and noting she even sympathised with them. She looked embarrassed, the witness said.

The Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, in the historic centre of the Spanish capital, is one of the city's best-known five-star properties.
