'El Show de Paz,' the weekend comedy program that marked Paz Padilla's return to Mediaset, will end its run once the summer is over, according to television insiders. The show has failed to lift its ratings and is not expected to return in September, with this coming weekend set to be its final broadcast.
Padilla came back to Mediaset with force after her controversial exit from 'Sálvame,' taking charge of a new slot on the network known for its studios on Madrid's Carretera de Fuencarral. 'El Show de Paz' was billed as a light-hearted comedy magazine with touches of celebrity gossip, but the format has not won over Spanish viewers.
Weeks of weak ratings
The program has spent several weeks recording an audience share below the channel's average, and the poor results are what have pushed Mediaset toward ending the show once summer concludes. Television insiders in Spain say the program will not be back on air in September.
On the most recent broadcast, 'El Show de Paz' pulled in just 6.1 percent of the audience share, almost a full point below Telecinco's average of 7.0 percent.

Neither Mediaset nor Padilla herself had commented on the matter as of publication.
Who is Paz Padilla
Paz Padilla is one of the most popular figures in Spanish television, with a career spanning comedy, acting and presenting. Born in Cadiz, she first became known nationally as a comedian before establishing herself as one of the most recognisable faces at Mediaset, the media group that owns Telecinco.
Her career has been closely tied to Telecinco, where she has taken part in some of the network's biggest hits and built a following thanks to her spontaneity and down-to-earth style. As a presenter and panellist, she has worked on shows including 'Sálvame,' 'Sálvame Deluxe,' 'Got Talent España,' 'A simple vista,' 'Todo es mentira,' 'Déjate querer' and 'Así es la vida.'
Padilla has also built a solid career as an actress, appearing in series and fiction shows such as 'La que se avecina,' 'Gym Tony,' '¡Ala... Dina!' and 'Mis adorables vecinos.' Her artistic output extends further into stage shows, stand-up comedy and publishing projects.
Over the years, Padilla has repeatedly reinvented herself within Spanish television, moving between comedic work and more emotional, personal material. That versatility has made her one of the most recognisable professionals in the country and one of the audience's most searched-for personalities, both on television and on social media.
