Peruvian television presenter Magaly Medina has revealed that an overwhelming workload forced her to temporarily stop fulfilling her court-ordered community service in Surquillo.
Speaking in a video shared on her TikTok account, the broadcaster explained that she had to step in to manage general production duties on her show following her mid-year vacation.
Medina said she was forced to cancel medical appointments and pause her parish work after returning from a ten-day break at the end of July. She noted that the extra responsibilities left her asking for a break every day due to the heavy strain.

The sudden increase in her workload occurred after Patrick Llamo, the general producer of her television show Magaly TV, la firme, fell ill shortly before her vacation began. Upon her return, Medina had to oversee general production in addition to her routine duties.
Medina explained that while she serves as the journalistic director and presenter of the program, general production is not part of her regular routine. She stated that managing general production is something she does not normally do and does not enjoy.
Reasons for Court-Ordered Service
The community service requirement stems from a legal judgment issued against Medina after she lost a defamation lawsuit to former Peruvian professional footballer Jefferson Farfan. Farfan, a former national team forward, won the court ruling that obligated Medina to complete parish service work.
Medina fulfills her community service at the Our Lady of Loreto Parish, located in the Surquillo district of Lima. Her assigned tasks at the parish consist of administrative office work, including sorting, classifying, and archiving baptismal and marriage records.
Social Media Absence and Program Duties
Known in Peruvian media by the nickname La Urraca, Medina also addressed her recent absence from social media platforms during the same period. She told her followers that her time away from online networks was directly linked to the sudden production burden at the television station rather than her vacation alone.
The presenter clarified that her hiatus from community service was a temporary measure while she managed the extra responsibilities at the show.
