The Luch cinema chain in Krasnoyarsk has refused to show the movie The Last Warrior. Kolobok following disputes over film quality and age ratings. The picture premiered in Russia on August 6, 2026.

Luch stated that the distribution terms of the copyright owner did not match its view of movie quality or the controversial 6+ age restriction. The cinema chain added that only the title remained from the familiar franchise and chose not to screen the film to avoid scaring viewers.

Schedule Controversy and Box Office

Prior to its release, the film was given prime showtimes across major Russian cinema chains, which asked to delay the unofficial premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day by a week until August 20. Viewers reacted with indignation, noting that the two films serve different audiences.

Despite viewer boycotts, The Last Warrior. Kolobok set a record for summer opening box office receipts in Russia since 2022, earning more than 100 million rubles. However, the film holds a rating of 1.6 out of 10 on the Kinopoisk aggregator.
