From karaoke to conference hall: 11 restaurants “with more”

From karaoke to conference hall: 11 restaurants “with more”

Multitasking (as well as solvency) is the most important superpower of the 21st century. Fortunately, it’s not just on your ex. For example, multitasking and multifunctionality are a feature of many restaurants.

It’s great when you can go and have a delicious meal, but much more interesting if you can linger and do something else after the restaurant. For example, listen to a lecture, take a steam bath, watch a movie or watch the life of animals.

This is especially valuable in bad weather, when you don’t want to go out again or even take a taxi between home, cinema and cafe.

The Fashion Vibes columnist Anya Baturina has put together the most interesting concepts that can be found in Moscow.

Bathroom

Under a familiar name from fairy tales, there is a restaurant of Russian cuisine with everything from stuffed meat, pickles and fried meat to boiled lamb and homemade meatballs in broth, as well as an ultra-modern bathroom complex (it’s not what you did) in childhood, once a bathhouse with your grandmother you saw when you entered).

More and more girls spend their weekends in the bathhouse – they go together, make masks and wraps and talk about the benefits of heat and steam for the skin and body. Why? You have to try it yourself to see if it is your way to clear your head (thoughts will simply melt in the steam room). If you don’t want other people’s naked bodies nearby, Firebird has six private concept VIP apartments for companies, and there are also aromatherapy sessions – this is acrobatics anyway. Under different aromas – taiga (coniferous), Karelian (berry), Kamchatka (salty), Altai (vegetative), Crimean (lavender) and others – stories, myths and legends are collected here. It turns out a full-fledged performance.

Social network

A new restaurant has opened on Bolshaya Dmitrovka from restaurateur Anton Pinsky (which is no longer enough to surprise anyone) and Instafoodpassion gastroblogger girls (but this is already something new). The menu was invented by Lyuba and Polina, and chefs Igor Gubanov and Maxim Pak finalized the menu. Literally every dish (as well as plates with inscriptions and pearl beads on the ceiling) were photographed, some servings – filmed (for example, they pulled out a burger singing the famous song in a Big Mac commercial – we bet there were words about two meat patties on my head grill) .

So in this case, in addition to the restaurant, the content that successful bloggers have already thought of for you, all you have to do is turn on the camera, press the button and publish – it will definitely fly off the rails!

Ester

speakeasy

Tel Aviv’s menu (important, not Israel) bistro Ester chef Grigory Chunikhin created under the impression of a trip to Tel Aviv (try to guess where it is). I would like to return to a small restaurant in the basement on Bolshaya Nikitskaya with a pleasant interior and even more affordable prices (there is only one dish that costs more than 1,000 rubles – octopus). Interesting interior details include a real tree and a tap with drinking water on the wall.

Inside the restaurant, behind one of the curtains (the first is from the entrance, behind the second – the toilet) there is a secret bar with only 12 seats. Here, chef bartender Yaroslav Kindzersky unleashes his imagination and creates cocktails with Middle Eastern motifs using traditional Israeli ingredients or his own preparations.

Farm, bar and “neighbor chat”

Presnya City Residential Complex Presnya City is a cozy restaurant with author’s cuisine. Chef Andrey Valkov has created an excellent menu of products from the restaurant’s own farm in the village of Vologdino (Vladimir district, suddenly you have a cottage nearby).

As a restaurant in a residential complex, the Gem is supposed to serve breakfast to guests in the morning and drink cocktails until late at night (at the Lava bar, literally across the hall) – so they don’t have to leave their own home. Most visitors are neighbors and get to know each other and even each other’s dogs. It’s an ideal place to discuss loud and colorful what is often written in neighbor chats, from general household issues to noisy guests.

excursions

A complex bar serving pan-Asian cuisine and author cocktails in Trubnaya, named after the tavern in Hugo’s Les Misérables. In addition to the live music and pleasant conversations you expect from a bar, they also offer the opportunity to meet Moscow.

The bar crew started a series of city tours. Now they’re showing our Red Light District, where BDSM comes from, how Olivier’s salad is linked to all that rudeness, and what yellow means (oops!). In general, on Wednesdays and Sundays you can not only drink mulled wine, but also enrich yourself culturally (yes, despite the spicy topic of the tour).

Dry&Wet

Shotoshnaya

An interesting combination is a bar within a bar. It seems that one is not enough? But no, the concepts and drinks are completely different. Dry&Wet itself is a cocktail bar divided into several different vibe locations. The menu includes sour drinks, strong drinks, snacks and high balls, pizza, street food, snacks.

Inside Dry&Wet, The Deuce opened in mid-October. It can only be ordered in multiples of two shots. So the algebra worked – we came across the word “multiple” for the second time in our lives, the first time was at the ATM when withdrawing cash. By the way, if you win at roulette, the order can be doubled at the expense of the house. The bar also hosts DRUNK SPEAKING – “drunk” English lessons, having fun, shots, slang and vocabulary 18+.

Hotel

It turns out that the courtyards of Krasnaya Presnya hide a lot of interesting things. For example, the Cepage restaurant with an open kitchen and a contact wine bar. Room location in the courtyards, author’s kitchen, incredible amount of wine on the menu and very early and long breakfasts with oysters and sparkling wine (weekdays start at 7:30 am, on weekends – later, from 10:00 to 16:00) takes as long).

The secret to perfect breakfasts is that the restaurant is located inside the hotel. By the way, it is very convenient. If you start to feel sleepy after eating, or if you don’t want to go dancing at Dawn and then kick off your heels (or sneakers) and head home, you can stay at the beautiful WineWood boutique hotel. By the way, soon several bars will open in it at once (I have already seen this and there will be a ball), and in the summer – a stunning veranda with grapes that managed to grow in the center of Moscow!

Confectionery

Perhaps the most understandable combination of a restaurant and a patisserie. But it’s not just a long list of desserts somewhere on the last page of the menu, it’s what it all started for. First there was a culinary blog, then a home bakery, and only six years after the first mention of Calabas, a confectionery shop appeared, and then a full-fledged restaurant on Baumanskaya Street.

You can’t leave without trying six Napoleon flavors and more than 25 types of pasta. Well, or at least you’ll have to go back to close this issue.

Shinok

window to the village

The hospitable restaurant of Ukrainian, Russian and Jewish cuisine has been operating for 25 years and if you have never been before, are you sure you are Muscovite? For nearly 14 years, the kitchen has been headed by chef Elena Nikiforova, who as a “Jewish mother” cooks only the best for her guests and wants everyone to leave full.

The “continuation” of the restaurant is a corner of village life, the language does not dare to call it a zoo. Hares, chickens, pheasants, peacocks, goats live in comfort behind glass. You can’t touch anyone but watching the life of animals is a real pleasure.

wine skills

Auditorium

Lunch or dinner at Wineskills is a great excuse to get away from the hustle and bustle of Moscow. If the weather is good, it will be possible to walk in the picturesque park on the banks of the Setun River. In the restaurant itself, pay attention to the plates (the design of the dishes was created by Chef Evgeny Tsyganov) and the tasting set – in order not to waste time choosing dishes, you should take the best that the chef has determined.

In the same building as the restaurant is a wine conference room where thematic lessons are held, perfect for those who distinguish wine by color (white or red) alone, and those who distinguish “cat” notes in gooseberry and sauvignons.

Izumi

karaoke

It’s safe to teleport to Japan. In the restaurant, you can find all the hallmarks (or clichés) of life in the Land of the Rising Sun – a Japanese garden, a lot of neon, reference ramen from brand chef Kobayashi Katsuhiko, Japanese pop, disco and house of the 70s and 80s, cult anime music and most importantly – capsule karaoke!

These booths are found in thousands of bars in Japan. There are five in Izumi, housing 1 to 20 people. Don’t worry, you don’t have to sing in Japanese even though you can. To completely immerse yourself in the culture of karaoke, for example, you can buy costumes and wigs (free) at the restaurant and sing in the image of your favorite anime character.
