In reality, the comfort zone is not about comfort, it’s about fear. Often we are afraid to see the first step. But the ability to take risks is the main way we grow. When you do this, you will learn to enjoy life.
Decide what is outside of your comfort zone
Do you think it’s worth doing but are afraid of potential disappointment or failure? Draw a circle and write down everything that you would never do outside the circle, but inside it you are familiar with – such an exercise will help you identify not only your discomfort, but also what you are comfortable doing.
Understand what you want to overcome
Get a list of ailments and review it. Remember that the main emotion you are trying to overcome is fear. How does this fear apply to each situation in a unique way? Be extremely specific. Are you afraid to approach people and introduce yourself first? Why? Why? Is it because you’re not sure what your voice sounds like? Or in your looks? Or are you afraid of being ignored?
Don’t be afraid of uncomfortable situations
One way to step outside of your comfort zone is to literally expand it. Make it your goal not to avoid uncomfortable or uncomfortable situations.
Don’t be afraid of mistakes
Most of us are so afraid of failure that we would rather do nothing than risk our dreams. Start treating failure like a teacher. What has this experience taught you? What conclusions can you draw from this situation?
Take small steps
Don’t try to get out of your comfort zone right away. Take small steps towards the fear you are trying to overcome. If you want to speak in public, start with a small group of people. For example, friends or family.
