Nothing excites people more than the question: What awaits us in 2022? More than 14 million Web users were looking for an answer in Yandex. The number of views from an interview with astrologer Tamara Globa about what the world awaits is no less indicative. The video was watched by nearly 3.3 million people in just three days. And that number continues to grow!
This interest is not accidental, of course. Seers and astrologers were covered years ago. There were legends about them. To get to them, they defended huge tails, and it was they who were entrusted with their fate. But the most interesting thing is that seers and astrologers are believed not only by “mortals”, but also by the rulers of many states.
It is impossible not to notice that recently the interest in esotericism has increased significantly. One out of every three people in our circle at least once turned to an astrologer, a numerologist’s contact is always in the notebook, and the number of specialists in this field continues to grow. What is the reason for such a phenomenon and why in the 21st century, when everyone is talking about critical thinking, why do we blindly entrust our future to fortunetellers and horoscopes? We understand this issue with psychologists and even astrologers.
One of the main reasons we turn to horoscopes and specialists in the field of esotericism is to put the responsibility of our life on someone else’s shoulders, explaining the current psychologists and psychotherapists. This behavior speaks to a childlike attitude to parents or the adults around us that we are used to making decisions for us.

Anna Komisarova, practicing psychotherapist, member of the Moscow Psychoanalytic Society
There is a childlike part of us inside all of us who wants to trust a strong adult figure and remembers when a child’s life was determined by their parents. The memory of this experience becomes largely unconscious. We do not always understand what is happening to us and why, where certain desires come from.
We go to a psychoanalyst to decipher what our dreams mean, or we turn to horoscopes to relate the interpretation of astrological processes to what we feel or observe in our lives.
Self-knowledge is impossible without another, this is how people are organized, this is what attracts us to those who offer to take care of ourselves.
The psychologist constellation Yulia Khadartseva agrees with this view. As the expert explains, the infantile position in which we rely on astrologers and horoscopes allows us to minimize the level of responsibility for our lives.
Belief in astrologers and horoscopes globally relates to the life responsibility we want to pass on to someone else.
The important thing here is that we can read various predictions endlessly, but we create life ourselves and only we can change it.
In a child’s position, we cannot have big money, big opportunities, tangible material structures, or adult relationships. Therefore, I advise: when you read some kind of prediction, try to take only the positive from there and apply it to your life.

Julia Khadartseva, psychologist constellation
Astrologers themselves look at this issue more broadly. They explain the belief in their predictions by the fact that people are divided into two types, leaders and followers, each for their own reasons preferring to seek advice from experts.

Anna Guseva, astrologer, lecturer at Synergy University
About 15% of the population are leaders and 85% are followers. The leader has good intuition, thinks strategically, knows everything in advance. Sometimes he needs an astrologer or horoscope, but only to confirm his own intuition or a certain biorhythm.
For a directed person, the horoscope becomes a kind of incentive, he feels the need to trust him.
Leaders are more likely than leaders to believe general predictions about their lives. At the same time, they prefer to believe in positive predictions and may reject negative ones.
However, the astrologer Anna Guseva does not deny the fact that in this case there is also a margin of responsibility for one’s life:
Sometimes people believe in horoscopes because it makes life easier. If a person says, “The problem has arisen because I am a Taurus”, it will be easier to endure some difficult situations.
By the way, strangely enough, women prefer to trust specialists in the field of esotericism or horoscopes, says psychologist Andrey Zberovsky.
“A woman is already born with increased anxiety, so nature has adapted her responsibility for a large number of people. Men are easier.
Therefore, women are primarily the target audience of all esotericists. This is just an added source of anxiety relief.
The basic essence of astrologers is to help with the uncertainty and unpredictability of life.

Andrey Zberovsky, PhD, psychologist
“Horoscopes help to cope with chaos. They console, warn carefully about certain dangers, and create the feeling that we can now control them. Psychotherapist Anna Komisarova also suggests in which area it is worth directing energy, thereby promising well-being in the future.
