Van Leeuwen Ice Cream’s latest flavor is none other than vanilla.
The Brooklyn-based ice cream brand launched a new pizza-flavored frozen treat this month, exclusive to Walmart stores for a limited time.
Pizza ice cream sold in 14 oz. The $4.98 cups each are made with cream cheese and mozzarella ice cream, a swirl of tomato jam, and basil cookies.
“You ate the pizza. You got the ice cream. It’s natural to have some Pizza gelato,” the brand says.

Cream cheese and mozzarella ice cream is made with a round of tomato jam and biscuits in a basil crust.
The extraordinary flavor, which the brand describes as “surprisingly delicious,” hit the shelves of 3,500 Walmart locations last week.
Released last summer and sold out, Royal Wedding Cake is part of a new collection that also includes Hot Honey, Bourbon Cherry Jubilee, Wild Blueberry Shortcake, Planet Earth and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
“From local Maine blueberry jam makers to cookie makers with a social mission, we’ve created a collection of classic flavors with carefully selected ingredients,” said Ben Van Leeuwen, the brand’s co-founder and CEO.
Of all the recommendations, the taste of pizza is definitely the most controversial, and reviews are already pouring in online.
Royal Wedding Cake is part of a new collection that also includes Hot Honey, Bourbon Cherry Jubilee, Wild Blueberry Shortcake and Planet Earth flavors.
The collection also includes Kraft Maccheroni and Cheese, which launched last summer and sold out quickly.
A reporter on the Today program said that the base mostly tastes like cream cheese, and the tomato jam is “so reminiscent of strawberry, giving it an inventive but recognizable classic, strawberry cheesecake.”
An Instagram user also got the feeling of strawberry cheesecake, calling it “weird but good.”
“I actually went there expecting it to be bad, but it’s not that bad. The dough bases are quite tasty and the tomato jam makes a nice sweet addition,’ says another.

The macaroni and cheese, which was released in limited numbers last summer, tastes equally unique.
The collaboration between Kraft Heinz Company and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream was a huge success last year.
The ice cream sold out fast and is now back for curious fans to try it this spring.

Kraft Heinz Company also celebrated the interesting taste, adding that the cold collaboration came just in time for the summer season.
