The former Chief of the Royal Guard of the Metropolitan Police said Princess Diana would be alive today if she had been responsible for her safety at the time of the accident.
His name was Dai Davies. He was the commander of the task force responsible for royal protection of the queen and the royal family in 1995 and worked closely with Princess Diana before her death 25 years ago.
Diana’s life, at age 36, was short-lived when the Mercedes she and her boyfriend Dodi Fayed were driving collided with a pillar in Alma’s Paris underpass during a high-speed chase, trying to evade the paparazzi as the couple drove.
Dai told GB News Breakfast this morning that Diana had expressed “serious concerns” about her travel schedule to France and that the princess would still be alive today if her officers in Paris took care of her.

After the accident in which Princess Diana lost her life, the police are preparing to move the wreckage of the Mercedes.
“A lot of thoughts go through my mind as we approach our anniversary.
“For one thing, if my officers in Paris had taken care of him, this would never have happened,” Dai told GB News.
“I wish I could tell you more about my thoughts and advice to the royal family before I go on vacation with the Fayed family, but I can’t.”
Davies also said he was concerned that Diana would go to France before her death.
In July 1997, Diana was born in St. She was spotted on vacation with Dodi in Tropez.
During the trip, she and her sons William and Harry visit the family’s 30-bedroom villa, Castle St. Therese stayed.
Davies said Diana expressed “serious concerns” about her trip to France and that she would still be alive if she had been responsible.
It is said that he approached Dodi here before the couple died in Paris and stayed at the villa several times over the summer.
Davies said she raised her concerns to the royal family through the Queen’s private secretary, after Diana accepted an invitation to meet with Prince Harry and William in the south of France with Dodi.
“It’s over now because I won’t go into details, but I had serious concerns after the itinerary and what was going on there, but it’s there in the story,” he said.
He discussed at length the “tragedy” of the princess’ accident, which he had studied and researched for years.
“I must say it never would have happened if the seat belts had been fastened. Glad I hope it’s now conspiracy issue bullshit, I hope it goes to bed.
The princess spent most of the summer with Dodi Fayed in St Tropez, France, before leaving for Paris in late August.
“I agree with the head of the French authorities, I agree with the judge or two judges in France” governing in France. I testified during the investigation and I support the results 100%.
“From the investigation, there was no evidence, that’s bullshit. Everything around was never supposed to happen. It was an accident.
“Sorry we spent a lot of public money to meet one person’s needs, but here we are, this is history. We all have to move forward.
“I hope the conspiracy bullshit can be ended once and for all and we remember Diana what she accomplished, what she represented and how she changed the royal family forever.
“I think Prince William’s main emphasis is on how he was brought up and how he will act when he becomes king.”
Thinking about his time with Princess Diana, Mr Davies said, ‘Where did 25 years go? Pretty surprising. I had the privilege and the pleasure of meeting Princess Diana, a wonderful woman.
“I don’t think I can think of another woman of such international renown in my life, and in a way, I’m glad we remember her because her positive aspects far outweigh the insulting things some people might say.”
“When I first took over in the mid-90s, I was like, ‘Poor guy, you know what you got?’ I remember you said.
“And I can honestly say that since I’ve been a street cop for most of my life, I didn’t know I was entering a civil war when I took on this role.
“It was really a civil war between her and her husband.”
