Aldi causes excitement among parents as it stops selling its best-selling baby wipes

Aldi shoppers have revolted after the popular supermarket chain “sneaked” changes to its best-selling baby wipes.

Some are dissatisfied with the budget supermarket’s decision to replace the 64-pack of delicate baby wipes from Mamia with the new 60-pack.

Angry customers have turned to Facebook to complain about the quality of the new biodegradable product, which comes in smaller plastic packaging.

Aldi’s new packs of 60 biodegradable Mamia wipes cost 55 cents, and old packs of 64 wipes cost 62 cents, but despite the price difference, buyers are still not happy with the size.

They claim that the quality has changed and they need to use more wipes and therefore more expensive.

The inexpensive supermarket claimed its product (pictured) was biodegradable. It turned out that the old packaging contained single-use plastic

Parents turned to Facebook to express their horror at the change. A glued Aldi would be sneaky! 64 to 60 !!!! Let Aldi UK take care of it!'

Aldi said it would abandon the old version because the wipes in the 64-pack contain plastic.

The supermarket has promised to remove all single-use plastic from its own branded wipes before the summer.

Aldi also pointed out that the new 60-piece pack is the industry standard, but the move was not welcomed by all parents, and some took to the internet to express their anger at the change in their favorite product.

A discussion about the discontinued product and its replacement quickly took to Facebook, with a post in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains group that garnered more than 4,000 comments.

Aldi sparked outrage among parents for sneaking out the family's favorite 64-pacj, while the Mamia 60-pack was drying up in favor of a new biodegradable product.

Another called the new wipes “absolute garbage,” and a third thought said they stopped using them because they were out of date.

“Obviously the person who designed it didn’t try to wipe a filthy ass with it,” they said.

A fourth user said: “Not only that, they hit the pot!” And once again I realized that the quality was “terrible”.

One user even described Morrison’s baby wipes as “absolutely gorgeous” as an alternative, while another suggested Poundland.

Customers of the Facebook group said they had to buy more because the quality of the product was compromised.

With one user explaining: “Two packs took me a week. Now that I’ve faced them in four days, it’s frustrating as I normally love Aldi. ‘

FEMAIL contacted Aldi for a product change.

A spokesperson for the budget supermarket said: “The move to biodegradable wipes is another step in our commitment to reducing plastic in our product range.

“Not only are our Mamia Biodegradable Wipes free of plastic, they are significantly cheaper than the Big Four, and we will continue to do everything we can to keep prices low so shoppers know they’ll always make significant savings when they shop with us.”

Some unhappy parents took to Twitter to respond to Aldi’s decision to discontinue their 64-pack of Mamia baby wipes.

One user ‘@AldiUK, we’ve been buying baby food wipes for our little girl for 18 months and prefer them to cute and cuddly wipes. You recently changed the package size from 64 to 60 (no problem, inflate and all), but the quality has dropped! ‘

Another, ‘I’m sorry for complaining on Twitter @AldiUK but you changed baby wipes. Same pack, but smaller and different wipes. They are much inferior and really noticeable. Too bad because your Mamia stuff has always been the best on the market”.

The third said: ‘@AldiUK What happened to the Mamia diapers? They left as if hugging. Much better than before! I cannot use them.

And the fourth said: ‘What’s wrong with @AldiUK Mamia sensitive wipes?! bought a box as we always do, the packs are smaller, contain fewer wipes and are terrible! It says ‘no plastics’ on the packaging, but do all the ingredients stay the same?’
