We continue to share the best gastronomic spots on the map of Russia. The second part of the guide is devoted to the Crimea – or rather the South Coast region, which is the best part in every sense.
We hope that you have already appreciated the restaurants of Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar and Sochi, about which we wrote in the first part of the guide, from your own experience.
In the past few years, Moscow and St. Petersburg restaurant owners docked in the Crimea, and now you can go here not even to swim and see the sights, but simply to eat delicious food and, of course, to taste: wine tourism is developing here almost faster than restaurant tourism. Moreover, every year there are more interesting options, and to make the most of it, you need to lie down for at least a week, and preferably a couple.
To see and taste the best of Crimea, The Fashion Vibes strongly recommends renting a car – otherwise it is difficult to get to many beautiful places, for example, wineries and restaurants attached to them. And if you’re traveling with friends, take at least one non-drinker with you: “sober driver” service is essential during wine tasting!
Big Yalta

Yalta is not only the city itself, but also a long coastline with resorts under it and mountains rising like a wall above it. Therefore, there are many interesting options here.
Breakfast
Patricks by the Sea at Pioner Café

The trendiest breakfast is served in the new award-winning Pioner Café. Here you can not only order a truffle omelette or a green bowl dessert until 16:00, but also find yourself in the atmosphere of Moscow Patricks, flavored with a gentle sea breeze.
Address: Nab. Lenina named after VI, 35A
Dinner
The aristocratic atmosphere of Cote Russe, the best chebureks in “Shalash” and the hospitable mountain “Orly”

Fans of intimate spaces and historical atmosphere should book a table in the Cote Russe restaurant on the territory of the Villa Elena hotel, which stands under the crowns of centuries-old trees. The place is very trendy so getting a table is not easy. But it’s worth it: the seafood here is excellent. Order carpaccio from rapans, hamachi stroganina and tuna crudo.
Would you like to try chebureks with an unusual filling – for example, with salmon? Next, go to the “Shalash” at the Baidar Gates, which even saw Pushkin. Sit on the upper terrace, where the sea shines among the greenery, take a hearty soup with pastries and enjoy. Then do not forget to go down to the Church of Foros – from there such a seaside view opens, just “ah”!
If you plan to hike or horseback ride in the cool Baidar Valley during the day, head to Orly cafe in Orlinoe village for lunch. Sit on the veranda under a canopy and get yantyh – the Crimean version of khychin is such that it is impossible to tear yourself away. Ona – achichuk salad and fish soup. Drink homemade buttermilk. Leave a place for coffee with desserts – they are always very fresh here.

Dinner
Fancy food at Doctor Whiskey or pizza at Capri del Mare

A mandatory point of the program is the gastronomic “Doctor Whiskey”, where they managed to combine complex food with whiskey and drinks. You will find the best pizza in Yalta in the pizzeria Capri del Mare. If you find yourself there, leave room for the panna cotta.

Balaklava

Although the city is small, it is quite developed in terms of gastronomy. So it’s definitely worth a stop here – especially Balaklava Bay is a very cozy, historic promenade and the Genoese fortress, romantic for walking in the evening, with soft lighting. The main thing is not to buy mussels on the promenade, there are much better places for this.
Breakfast
Over a cup of coffee in the cafe “Kapral”

The day should start on the set, so head to Cafe Kapral. While drinking your coffee and waiting for your order, you can meditate on the endless number of people and boats passing by.
Address: Nab. Nazukina, 11
Dinner
Overlooking the bay in Oblaki or the vineyards in Terroir

We offer two options – and choosing one of them will not be easy! For mussels and other seafood, head to the Clouds. The restaurant is located at the entrance of the bay, and you can meditatively watch how the white boats run back and forth, choosing mollusks from shells.
To see the vineyards and the best combinations of food and wine, you need to go a little outside of Balaklava: on its outskirts there are large fields of Zolotaya Balka vineyards, with a designer glass tourist center and a factory behind a transparent glass. wall. On the second floor, on the terrace – restaurant “Terroir”. After lunch, you can enjoy wine tasting in the vineyards and cellars. Or just buy wine and old local cheese from the store on the ground floor. It’s worth stopping by at least for an aperitif or coffee at sunset – the view is like in Tuscany!
Addresses:
“Clouds”. Balaklava, Tavricheskaya embankment, 71
“Terror”. Sevastopol, st. Krestovsky, 66
Dinner
Mediterranean approach in Marinara

“Marinara” in the hotel “Homer” – the best restaurant for the evening. The institution, decorated in a refreshing nautical style, is very intimate, so it is better to book a table in advance. Here you need to try the Crimean oysters – they are incredibly fresh. Burrata with Crimean tomatoes is also good. If you like Black Sea fish, get red mullet, bluefish or flounder. A worthy competitor to them is the Spanish-style octopus. And be sure to buy Crimean wine for dinner.
Address: Balaklava, st. Gerasim Rubtsova, 1
Sevastopol

In the capital of the Black Sea Fleet there is a risk of disintegration: on the one hand, the city itself has a lot of interesting things, on the other hand, its surroundings are a separate viticultural zone, where there are some. Crimea’s best wines are made, and the wineries are well worth a visit.
Breakfast
European-Style Morning: Waffles with Love, Provence and 23 Café Boulangerie

If you like sweet breakfasts, you’ll love Waffle with Love. For a wide selection and French atmosphere, head to Provence or 23 Café Boulangerie – the latter is famous in Sevastopol for its pastries.

Dinner
Catch from the Black Sea in “Float”
A wonderful place on the Black Sea, a little Odessa style – restaurant “Poplavok”. Giant aquariums and display cases with seafood – both local and Far Eastern – opaquely hint at what you should buy here. Try the baked rapani served as an appetizer – which isn’t entirely obvious: of all the places we’ve tried, here is one of the most tender.
Other good options are Barkas and Black Sea restaurants.
Dinner
Cyclope – the main impression of the Crimea

The essence of a gastronomic adventure in Crimea will be a dinner in the Cyclope restaurant in Pavel Shvets Uppa Winery. The micro-restaurant is built on the principle of Michelin-starred establishments (Russia literally has one to count): it is far from civilization and only serves sets made of local and organic products paired with its own biodynamic wine (the only one in Russia).
Really astonishing flavors, aesthetic presentation, well-trained waiters, views of the vineyards on the mountainside like in Bordeaux – when you find yourself here, you just don’t believe you are at home and not somewhere. Europe. Which makes sense, the restaurant is incredibly popular, so you need to book a seat even before you go on vacation.
And since it is a sin not to drink wine here, and the place is remote (Rodnoe village), there are two options for how to get here and enjoy. The first is a taxi (or a non-drinker in your company). The second is to stay next door at the recently opened Mangup Glamping, where you can walk to the restaurant. True, three meals a la carte are included in the accommodation according to the author’s menu from the Moscow chef, and since Mangup is actually a winery, tastings are also held here. But after all, how about hanging out in these parts for a few days to be on time everywhere, because Baba Mountain valley is a great place!
