But royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has now suggested that William and Charles would in no way accept Andrew’s role in the celebrations.
He told Mirror: ‘In terms of actual events, I don’t expect Prince Andrew to appear in the near future.
“We can be pretty sure that Queen won’t play any part in the platinum anniversary.
“Prince Charles and William will get used to it, he’s not a beginner.”
Earlier this week, the Daily Mail revealed that senior royals had “reluctantly” agreed to have Andrew travel to London with the Queen because they live so close.
However, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has now suggested that William and Charles would in no way accept Andrew’s celebratory fare (pictured together).
But they hoped “common sense” would prevail and Andrew would not try to play a major role in his first public appearance since Epstein’s victim, 38, reached an out-of-court settlement with Ms. Giuffre.
A family source said seniors in the royal family, including Prince Charles and the Duke of Cambridge, were “shocked” by the events, and Andrew’s decision to “take the front line” was “confused”.
However, experts have suggested that taking Andrew for a walk was a way for the Queen to indicate that she was “fine” and that Her Majesty “was very clear that she had a role to play in family matters”.
Vanity Fair Royal editor Katie Nichol said the Queen “consciously chose to allow Andrew to play such an important role” to show the public that she was “still making decisions”.

The Duchess of York and Princess Eugenie were also nominated by the Supreme Court for receiving large sums of money.
The exception relates to an alleged fraudulent scheme that is described in legal documents as “explicit money laundering”. Mail revealed yesterday that 77-year-old Turkish billionaire Nebahat İşbilen claimed to have cheated on her wealth by businessman Selman Türk. She sued him in the High Court for over £40m in damages, which he claims was lost.
He claims that £1.1m of his money ended up with Andrew. He paid back £750,000 but did not explain why it was credited to his account at Coutts Royal Bank in November 2019 in the first place.
Ms Isbilen claims she was tricked into giving the money to the Duke by Mr Turk, who mistakenly said the payment was due to helping Andrew get a passport.
Now the Mail can reveal that Amanda Thirsk, the Duke’s former private secretary, announced the marriage before paying. Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a private ceremony in Windsor in July 2020.
