Muy Historia launches podcast ‘Stories in 15 minutes’

Muy Historia magazine presents “Stories in 15 minutes”! A podcast that collects the history of great figures and events that have been very important and presents them in a perfect sound format for all history buffs who want to approach her in a different way than reading. It will consist of ten episodes, each dedicated to a different story, and will be available on the Podimo podcast listening platform from July 5.

You will be able to listen to stories telling different historical periods that were very important. An example of this can be found in the episode dedicated to Victorian London, where many secrets of that society are told, such as the fact that the cleaning work was carried out by armies of children who tried the impossible mission to clear all the garbage in the city, as the fighting dirt was one of the great challenges of London during the 19th century. For there was also the soot mixed with the mist and, worse still, the miasma of human excrement. The problem was how to get rid of the enormous amount of faeces produced by a city in constant expansion, but without a sewage network.

That same chapter also emphasizes how crime was one of the great Victorian obsessions, which was sensationalized in the press. An example is what happened to the famous London Garrotting Panic of 1862, a fit of mass hysteria following an alleged series of strangulation robberies on the streets of London. It started when Hugh Pilkington, MP, was attacked in this way to steal his watch. From then on, the newspapers rushed to blow up the news, the police took all kinds of exceptional measures, and several inventions were patented to protect themselves; including a shirt collar with spikes and a belt pistol that was carried on the back and fired backwards…

On the other hand, if you are a fan of conspiracy theories there is an episode just for you and it is titled “Powers in the Shadows”talks about the idea of the “world secret government” that has on occasion been associated with international Freemasonry, Zionism or groups such as the Bilderberg Club or the Trilateral Commission, as well as major technology companies, such as Google, Yahoo or Microsoft, accused of spying on the population on a planetary scale.

This idea of a hidden and secret cabinet revolves around the concept that real political power does not lie in the representatives elected by the people in free elections, but rather consists of people of great influence who pull the strings of the world with absolute impunity. .

The paradigmatic case of this type of shadow government would be the Bilderberg Club and its body, the Trilateral Commission, although there are other candidates as well, such as the CIA, international banks, the World Bank and the Bank of International Settlements.

And it doesn’t stop here! The “Stories in 15 Minutes” podcast continues with many more stories, such as that of two figures who are far from each other but both with an extremely important legacy: Ramesses II and John F. Kennedy or the history of beer, one of the most popular and consumed drinks in the world.

An innovative project voiced and produced by Iván Patxi Gómez Gallego and written by Marta González Pérez-Iñigo† The content corresponds to the documentation section of the magazine Muy Historia.
