Louanne Ward (pictured) from Perth, Western Australia, shared a video online explaining why women should avoid the phrase “I don’t need a man”.

Ms Ward said most men “automatically begin to lose interest” when they hear these words.

Affirmation is often seen in independent, confident and successful women.

‘That’s right, you don’t need a man; You earn your money, you can take care of yourself, you have a life, you are happy.

“You may not need a man, but you do need everything a man can give you: affection, support, love, laughter, sex, care.”

Ms Ward called the phrase “ridiculous to say” because there is “no shame” in needing a man to meet someone’s needs.

“You really need him for everything he can give you,” she said.

She begins to be brave enough to say, “Actually, I need a man for what I can’t give myself.”

“There is no shame in needing, it is very different from being needy.”

He added that it wasn't.

“You may not need a man, but you really do need everything a man can give you: affection, support, love, laughter, sex, care,” Ms Ward said.

The video received a lot of attention online, and many took Louanne’s advice.

“You said it very well,” one wrote, while another added: “Yes, even the opposite sex. We all need the same things.

A third added, “You actually need a man’s masculine energy, too.”
