“My parents believed that traveling was more important than school. I’m very grateful”

Taking children on vacation can be a nightmare for many, as can having to take them through expensive rush hours to prevent their children from missing school.

But for one woman, she said she was “thankful” that her parents considered travel more important than school.

Lily Reef went viral on TikTok when she claimed her parents were pausing her education so she could travel the world with her.

She claimed she would be taken out of school for a week so they could explore the world.

In the clip that has now racked up 2.8 million views, Lily shared what her life was like as a child.

He writes: “Point of view: your parents believed that traveling [was greater than] school.”

With her “surfer parents”, Lily revealed a series of sunny shots from her childhood.

From an early age, the brunette was able to feed elephants, meet people from different cultures, and even surf some waves.

Lily was also photographed wearing a snorkel and on other holidays climbing a snowy mountain looks like fun!

And it seems that Lily was very happy to miss some lessons, she wrote: “Forever grateful for that !!”

Not only was Lily “grateful”, but users felt she had the “best” school experience outside of the classroom.

One person commented: “Full of memories”.

Another user added: “This is the kind of instruction we need, not algebra.”

While a third person praised: “You had the best school experience! You don’t learn these things sitting in a classroom.

Someone else said: “Getting to know different cultures and living with people from different DEF backgrounds will teach you more than school. “

But not everyone was convinced that taking a break from school to travel was the best idea.

This user said: “They are not mutually exclusive lol. it is better to lobby for both equally ”.

A second person criticized: “It’s shocking how many people think education is useless, as just because you don’t love it doesn’t mean it has no purpose.”

Someone else remarked, “So … super delicious, I get it.”

Meanwhile, a quarter said: “I never went on vacation as a child because we didn’t have money, it’s not just an option to travel instead of being at home. School, what a privilege”.

Lilly replied to those who questioned her parents’ decision: “I was the girl who had no novelties, toys or new clothes, but my parents were willing to spend our money on travel, not on nice things.”

According to UK government website: “You must obtain permission from the principal if you wish to pick up your child from school during school hours.”

If you do not get permission to remove your child from school during the school day, action may be taken, including fines.
