Glen Powell has denied reports that he will replace Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible series. He described participating in such projects as a trap.
ESPN host Pat McAfee called Glen out on his show. He congratulated her and read aloud the headline of the Insider article: “Tom Cruise Wants Glen Powell to Replace Him and Lead the ‘Mission: Impossible’ Franchise in Potential Future Installments.”
Powell quickly denied the allegation, joking to McAfee, 37: “My mom would never let me do that.” Referring to Cruise’s dangerous stunts in seven action-packed movies, he laughed and added: “It’s a death trap.”
The “Hitman” actor has starred opposite Tom Cruise in the past, playing a rival pilot in the 2022 hit movie “Top Gun: Maverick.” They will reunite in the sequel, which producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed earlier this year.
