The Anglican Church in Australia has demanded that producers remove footage filmed inside St John's Cathedral for a reality show featuring OnlyFans creators. The demand followed widespread controversy over scenes shot inside the 125-year-old cathedral in Brisbane for the Australian streaming platform Stan, 7News reported.
Filming took place inside the historical church for the sixth episode of the reality television series Turned On: Dirty Sexy Money. The sequence features British adult content creator Lily Phillips taking part in a formal church service, receiving communion, and answering questions regarding faith and repentance from cathedral Dean Peter Catt while other OnlyFans creators appear as extras.
Dean Catt reportedly granted permission for the production crew to shoot inside the cathedral building. Church sources indicated the dean believed the project was a serious documentary about faith and spiritual reconciliation for a person who had felt excluded from religious communities because of work in the adult entertainment industry.
Church response and requested deletions
Archbishop Greaves criticized the completed episode, describing the material as clickbait reality content designed to sanitize an industry that exploits women. In a formal letter sent to parishioners on August 20, Archbishop Greaves apologized for the controversial decision to allow filming and confirmed that the diocese officially requested producers delete all footage showing church members, particularly children.
Production company Mischief & Wonder responded to the diocese, stating that formal authorization for the shoot was obtained directly from the cathedral dean. Studio representatives added that production staff acted immediately to comply when asked to remove specific individuals from the footage.
Creator background and future plans
Phillips, a high-profile creator on the subscription website OnlyFans, previously made headlines after announcing her intention to be re-baptised following a single-day event in which she had sex with 1,113 men.
Speaking in a subsequent interview, Phillips maintained that she is a practicing Christian and stated that her religious faith will form a central part of her life in 2026.
