From August 2 to 7 in Yekaterinburg will be held the III Eurasian Continent First Film Festival “Sixth”, where several dozen feature and documentary films from Russia, China, France, Iran, Norway, Germany, Serbia, Mongolia, Czech Republic, Italy, Kazakhstan, Israel, Pakistan and Portugal will be presented.

The people in charge of the screening program are Yegor Moskvitin and film expert Maria Gottlieb. This time the focus was not on new releases but on films from Cannes, Toronto, Rotterdam and other major festivals.
Competitors in the feature film screening include:
Tibetan thriller Jigme Trinley “One of Four” (China);
Farshad Hashemi’s drama “Me, Mary, the Children and 26 Others” (Czech Republic/Iran/Germany), about a woman who confronts her past after deciding to rent her house to a film crew;
“Yasmina’s Element” (Pakistan/Portugal/USA), a drama about a girl who really wants to study but faces insurmountable obstacles, directed by Anam Abbas;
“A Dog’s Case,” a legal drama directed by Laetitia Doche (France); “City of the Wind,” about the love and development of a young shaman, by Lkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir (Mongolia);
Drama “Lapin” (Russia), directed by Vlad Krasnoslobodtsev and Asya Oleshkevich, about a 15-year-old teenager trying to escape from reality after his parents’ divorce;
Vitaly Petrov’s drama about the life of a Tuvan shaman (Russia), “Black Stone”;
Nikita Miklushov’s film “Moss”, in which the relationship between the hero and nature (Russia) is at the center;
Yulia Trofimova’s youth film “Liar” (Russia), about a 17-year-old girl who is bored with her monotonous life;
Evgeniy Nikolaev’s horror film “Cuckoo”, which tells about the return to the parental home and difficult childhood memories (Russia);
Ilya Mikheev’s school drama “110”, which tells about a terrible event that turned the life of every high school student (Russia) upside down.

List of documentary film participants:
Andrey Natotsinsky’s “Edge of the Night” (Russia), about cryptocurrency dealers who caused an energy collapse in Abkhazia;
the film “My Friend Sega” by Artem Gryanik, which shows the stages of promotion of bloggers in social networks (Russia);
Nadezhda Sysonova’s observational film “Open Your Eyes” (Russia), about a blind couple who have a child;
Ye Yuan’s “Alive and Safe” (China), about the daily lives of young people with leukemia;
“Little Elk” by Elena Koptseva – the story of Katya, who has been giving birth to moose cows for many years (Russia);
“The Three of Us,” by Henia Brodbecker, is about a young Orthodox couple who defy the norms to fit in with society for their autistic son (Israel);
Sergei Dogorov’s “The Face” (Russia), about a simple guy from a Yakut village who once became a star;
“Yudi: Dance in the Dark” by Maxim Bashorin – the story of the founders of the dance team of the same name (Russia);
Marjan Khosravi’s “Requiem for a Tribe” is about a woman from a tribe in southwestern Iran who is betrayed by her family (Iran).

At the end of the festival, the jury will choose the winners in nine categories: “Grand Prix” of the play and non-fiction competition, “Best national debut”, “Best national non-fiction debut”, “Best foreign debut”, “Best foreign non-fiction debut”, “Best acting ensemble”, “Best debut at the festival” and “Audience Award”.
By the way, the last category will take into account the viewer’s opinion. Also, the festival guests will determine the winner in the special category “Film About Film”. The best projects will have to be chosen: “Prestige”, “Peace!” Friendship! Chew gum!”, “Time of anger. Time of love”, “Sergius against evil spirits. Yaga”, “Reality” “Air” and “Shadow of Chikatilo”.

And it’s not all a surprise. The audience will enjoy a special screening of Stanislav Sorokin’s debut film “Unloved” about the suddenly popular NILETTO band. The film was shot at the Sverdlovsk Film Studio with the support of KION.
And in the urban fantasy program “Anniversary of the Debut” the following films will be included: “Night Watch”, the film-memoir “Alexey Balabanov. Epilogue…”, animation and children’s films: “Wild Friend” by Anna Kurbatova, “Alyosha Popovich and Snake Tugarin”, “The Adventures of the Panda”, “The Last Dragon”, “Fairy Patrol”: the show continues works “ten” and “Mukhadrakon” by Tatyana Kolganova.
