Toothless mother branded catfish because she has dentures

Dubbed a “catfish” after one mom shared how her appearance changed dramatically when she wore makeup and dentures.

Ashley Butler, 31, from Tennessee, began losing her teeth as a result of drug addiction.

The delivery boy looks unrecognizable without dentures and makeup, but he couldn’t be happier to share his transformations online because he’s also the voice of the non-female.

“I was called a catfish, but I’m not like a catfish pretending to be someone else,” said the mother of four.

Catfish is a term popularized by the MTV series of the same name and is often used to describe someone who creates a false identity or a fictional character online to attract people romantically.

‘I am always myself, with or without makeup. “I wore eyeshadow, foundation and eyelashes to feel better, not to make fun of people,” said Ashley.

“I smile with and without my teeth. My prostheses do not define me. Thanks to the prostheses, I now feel comfortable in my own skin.’

Ashley uses her social media platform to promote self-love and acceptance.

He said: ‘My platform is for everyone – it’s a safe place. I do not judge anyone: you are you and I love everyone as they are.

Ashley said she smiles with and without teeth because her dentures don’t define her and she now feels comfortable in her own skin.

“We all have a history and unfortunately I became addicted to methamphetamine after a toxic relationship.

My tooth loss started with domestic violence and the remaining teeth were addictive.

“But that doesn’t mean I’m ugly or bad. I wish people didn’t associate beauty with looks.’

Extractions and dentures cost $9,328, but Ashley was lucky enough to get paid for them by a friendly stranger.

Ashley couldn’t hold back her tears and said, “I had a free consultation with the dentist but couldn’t afford the most basic dentures.

“I remember crying at the front desk and saying I’d be back after I had saved about $4,000.

“They called the next day and said an anonymous donor had paid for the tooth extraction and the best dentures they had to offer.”

Ashley pulled her teeth in November 2020 and received her temporary prosthesis in September 2021.

He adds: “It still amazes me that a stranger sitting next to me at the dentist pays for it.

“I never thought that something like this could happen to me! Whoever it was, saw my worth and believed in me.

“I didn’t think I deserved it. His kind gesture made me realize that I am worthy of love and respect for myself.

That’s why I try to bring positivity and happiness to my platform every day.

“I usually get good, positive responses, but there’s always someone calling me ‘junk’ or ‘catfish’.

“But it is because they clearly do not feel safe or dissatisfied with their life.

“Sometimes people can feel better simply by belittling others.

“It’s sad, but I don’t like negative comments that affect me.

“Who am I, I’m not trying to imagine myself as someone other than me.”
