Spring is about to come into its own, but it’s still cold and snowdrifts outside the window. But this is not a reason to be sad, but to use the end of winter wisely – relax and have a marathon watching new movies. We found detective stories that will distract you from the hustle and bustle, and most importantly, help you gain emotion.


“GDR”, dir. Sergey Popov (2024)

USSR, autumn 1989. After a failed special operation, Captain Nechaev receives an assignment in Moscow to monitor the performers of the Berlin music hall who are suspected of passing encrypted information to an American journalist. Soon the hero finds himself in the center of events, in East Germany, where intelligence agencies from all over the world will clash. The main roles in the series were played by: Alexander Gorbatov, Daria Ursulyak, Linda Lapinsh, Alexander Golubev, Evgeny Kharitonov, Elizaveta Bazykina and Tatyana Lyutaeva.


“Reptiles”, dir. Grant Singer, (2023)

Veteran detective Tom Nichols (Benicio del Toro) and his partner investigate the brutal murder of real estate agent Summer Elswick. His body was found in a house for sale with 33 stab wounds. Suspects include her lover and business partner, Will Grady (Justin Timberlake), who has an unhealthy relationship with his mother, her husband, Sam Gifford (Karl Glusman), who has a strange hobby, and a stranger who is stalking Will. The film also stars Alicia Silverstone and Michael Pitt.


“Griselda”, dir. Andres Buys (2024)

After her husband’s murder, Griselda Blanco and her three sons fled Medellin to Miami, taking with them a kilo of illegal substances. To earn money, she meets local dealers and becomes a successful drug baroness. The main role in the series was played by Sofia Vergara.


“Criminal Past”, dir. Jim Loach (2024)

A call came into the hotline: A frightened girl reported her boyfriend’s threats. The man admitted stabbing his ex-girlfriend and another man was serving a prison sentence for her murder. Two talented detectives take on the task of solving a 10-year-old case; the budding June and the experienced Hegarty with different investigative methods. They were played by Cush Jumbo and Peter Capaldi.


“Gone Girl”, dir. Nicholas D. Johnson, Will Merrick (2023)

After the death of her father, 18-year-old June (Storm Reid) has only one person close to her: her mother. And unfortunately, he suddenly disappeared: The woman and her new boyfriend flew to Colombia for vacation and are not in contact. The girl then begins her own investigation and finds out that she has been the victim of a scammer through her mother’s hacked email.


“Ghosts in Venice”, dir. Kenneth Branagh (2023)

Retired Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branagh) and his bodyguard Vitale Portfalio are forced to guest at a séance where a murder is committed. Overcoming skepticism towards everything mystical, the famous detective takes over the investigation.
