If you consider yourself a true foodie, today must be one of the best days of the year. And since all of this is celebrated on February 9th, it should actually have been approved on a global level a long time ago and declared a day off so that everyone can celebrate it properly. We’re talking about Pizza Day.
Of course, no one can say exactly the year when the Italians invented this dish, but its first mention appeared in the 17th century in the city of Naples. Although pizza was originally designed for poor workers in need of hearty “junk food,” by the end of the 18th century kings had already fallen in love with it. According to legend, Margherita pizza was named after the wife of King Umberto I.
After a short training program, we propose to finally move on to the most important question: where can we try delicious pizza in Moscow? We tell you about nine restaurants worth checking out.
Salmon legend from Mo Friends bar&dining
If there are gastronomic attractions in the Russian capital, Mo Friends bar&dining’s salmon pizza is one of them. In general, this pizza first appeared in the original “Simachev” in Stoleshnikov. Thanks to this place of power in Moscow, everyone knew about the legendary salmon pizza. But after the bar’s closure, the city lost its most recognizable dish from the banned social network.
I didn’t have to worry for long; Two years later, salmon pizza is back in town. That’s right, it appeared on the menu of a new establishment – Mo friends bar&dining. And it has remained one of the most popular positions ever since.
Pizza for every taste from 22
We love pizzerias. Especially ones that have more options than the classic Margherita and Pepperoni. One of our favorites is Pizza 22. They serve the most authentic Neapolitan pizza. The menu is divided into Old World and New World, with fruits, Italian cheeses and other unusual combinations. In addition to pizza, Italian and Asian appetizers, soups, salads, main courses and desserts are also served.
Neapolitan and Roman Dolce far niente
Italian restaurant Dolce far niente has been carefully prepared for the best holiday of the year. That’s why they have a special menu with unique signature items from February 5th to February 11th. Personally, all special things bother us because we want to try everything. In general, we talk about our favorites: “Duck spot, dates and gorgonzola”, “Stracciatella, shrimp and tandoori”, “Baked zucchini, veal cheek and pomegranate sauce” and the “Nera” pizza with beetroot sauce and ash shelve cheese.
Crazy Pizza in Nome
We’ve seen different pizzas, but this is the first time we’ve seen Crazy. It seems that as time goes by, so do pizzas. But behind the ironic name is hidden an original dish, in which the dough is left for two days to become as soft and tender as possible. And the filling has shrimp, avocado and kimchi sauce. Overall not a bit crazy.
Four cheeses from Semper
In Moscow’s greenest restaurant, the most delicious pizza with Dorblu, Parmesan, mozzarella and cheddar cheese was chosen. You can easily eat it on your own without any guilt. It’s not that big, but maybe that’s for the best. If this option seems too boring for you, try the pear and Gorgonzola pizza.
Lumicino with ham
Since we promise an unusual pizza in the title, we deliver. In our rating, this title goes to pizza with ham, potatoes and truffle sauce from Lumicino. This dish is the author of William’s son, Michele Lamberti. Ingredients: Mozzarella cheese, boiled smoked ham and potato skins, flavored with grated Parmesan and rosemary leaves. The idea is avant-garde, the execution is delicious.
Pistachio cream cheese from Community
Anyone who loves pizza dough sides should come to Community ASAP. And all because they’re topped with pistachio cream cheese. You will be surprised early. The pizza itself is truffle sauce, gorgonzola, goat cheese and mozzarella. You can now reserve a table. We’ve already done this.
From Capito with truffles and eggs
In Moscow they say pizza without mushrooms is a waste of dough. So another delicious option was found in Capito. There the pizza dough is prepared according to the original recipe of chef Alexander Arkhipov. Then everything is smeared with truffle tartuffa paste, mozzarella cheese, olive oil, champignons and farm hen eggs are added. All this is cooked in a wood oven and before serving, fresh black truffles are added and a sprinkling of Kampot fleur de salt is added.
I Like Wine 2.0 with Parma ham
If you like to eat thin pizza with a glass of sparkling wine, go to I Like Wine 2.0. A light dinner or a long-awaited gathering with a friend – Parma ham, Taleggio cheese and arugula – has the perfect dough thickness and optimal filling. Almost PP in general.
