Hyundai evolves the Kona

The new Kona has evolved into a larger yet city-focused SUV with bolder styling that conveys a more dynamic road presence and a more driver-focused interior. This unconventional approach allowed Hyundai to apply a technology-focused design concept to all Kona variants. The sleek and distinguished front characterizes the massive volume of the front end, which contributes to the model’s smooth aerodynamic performance. The design is accentuated by the elongated and pixelated horizontal light in the EV variant, to which it contributes a distinctive character. The use of parametric pixels in the Kona also propagates a distinctive design element of Hyundai’s popular range of electric vehicles.

Among the propulsion variants there are different styling variants. The EV features pixel graphic accents on the front grille and rear bumper, pixel-inspired 19-inch alloy wheel design, black beltline, and optional black roof and side mirrors. The ICE and HEV share a bold and robust design of the bumper and skid plate, as well as the black trim of the wheel arches. The N Line features optional black roof and side mirrors, wing-shaped spoiler, more aggressive front and rear designs with wing-shaped bumpers to accentuate a lower stance, distinctive 19-inch alloy wheels, dual muffler and side skirt.

The increased ‘living space’ of the new Kona’s interior offers practical features and a driving experience adapted to a variety of lifestyles. Universal EV-derived architecture features a sporty layout with a floating horizontal C-Pad that accentuates Kona’s wide and sleek interior and provides versatile space for driver and passengers.

The double 12.3-inch widescreen display and the floating module give a high-tech impression. Ambient lighting improves user experience and comfort. With the automatic selector lever behind the steering wheel, it offers a clear layout and additional storage space in the central module.
