In one of the biggest TV showrunner moves in years, CAA has tapped Greg Berlanti for representation across the board.
A WGA, DGA, PGA and Emmy nominated writer, director and producer, Berlanti is known for his loyalty; he changed agencies only once, in the early 2000s when he left ICM for Endeavor (now WME) where he worked for nearly two decades, represented by Ari Greenburg.
The move comes amid sweeping changes at Warner Brothers, Berlanti’s old television home. With his big overall deal on the horizon, Berlanti is bringing in a new team led by CAA heavyweights Bryan Lourd and Joe Cohen to determine his next move. (In feature films, Berlanti/Schechter Films signed an exclusive first-look feature with Netflix last year.)
Post-Discovery merger saw reorganizations and executive management shakeup across all of Warner Bros. ‘s businesses, including television studio HBO Max and DC, whose intellectual property drove a significant portion of Berlanti’s television business. The company and Paramount Global also sold a majority of their ownership stakes in CW, which aired most of Berlanti Productions’ series, although the future of that network is uncertain.
The recently behemoth CAA aggressively pursued the big accounts of rival WME following its acquisition of ICM, with several high-profile acquisitions including Charlize Theron and Connie Britton.
Berlanti began his television career as a writer for hit series Dawson’s Creek and became executive producer and showrunner of the series after just a year on the job. That first appearance sparked a meteoric rise in the career of Berlanti, who served as creator, writer and producer for series such as Everwood, Brothers & Sisters, Political Animals, Arrow, Blindspot, The Flash, Supergirl, You, Riverdale, Titans, Doom Patrol, All Americanand The stewardess.
Berlanti Productions has simulcasted up to 15 shows in recent years, breaking the record for the number of simulcasts by a TV producer on several occasions.

They are also currently in post-production with Matthew Lopez red white and royal blue, and recently completed production on Netflix Atlas with Jennifer Lopez.
