Some French children will be able to be vaccinated against Covid

The Haute Autorité de Santé officially recommends vaccinating some children against Covid-19, as in the United States.

Be careful, it will sting! But it’s for a good cause. This Monday, December 19, the High Authority for Health (HAS) recommended the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against Covid 19 for some children.

Children most at risk may be vaccinated

This vaccine is recommended for children aged 6 months to 4 years at risk of serious illness and death “As the HAS explains in a press release. As the ninth wave of Covid is spreading in France and children under the age of one account for 70% of hospitalizations for 0-17 year olds and 84% of ICU admissions, this vaccine can be seen as a relief .

Indeed, the children concerned are those “who have any of these comorbidities: congenital heart disease, chronic liver disease, chronic cardiac and respiratory disease – including severe asthma requiring ongoing treatment, neurological disease, primary or drug-induced immunodeficiency, obesity, diabetes, hematologic malignancies, sickle cell disease and trisomy 21 “.

Added to this are also the children who present cases of ” recent cancer, chronic kidney disease, or neurological disability “.

Furthermore, this vaccine is also recommended for children whose entourage is at risk of a severe form of Covid-19.
