Launched in February 2021, the sleepy tie is a double sweetheart dreamed up by Rachael Shtifter, a long-haired professional hairstylist who was overwhelmed to see that her brushing never held up through her nights of sleep. Determined to find a solution, she took advantage of the pandemic and confinement to produce a prototype hair accessory to hold locks in place overnight, keeping their shape and avoiding nicks.
“It’s a revolutionary, patent-pending design that allows you to keep your hair in the same position all night and even during the day during various activities such as sports, shopping or hair appointments”explains the entrepreneur to the magazine Addicted to the mane.
And seeing the success of the darling on social media, especially on TikTok, there was really a need for this type of product! Since its launch, Sleepy Tie has already been sold out five times and the hashtag #sleepytie has more than 195 million views on the Chinese platform.
To be able to use it, and therefore hope to extend the life of your brushing, you must have the long hair (at a minimum, the tips should be level with her bra strap points) and be a fan of hair dryers or heated styling tools. It’s suitable for all hair types, but it’s important to know that it wasn’t designed to protect natural curls, only those obtained from a curling iron or curler.
