If you probably liked the He shoutedThey Halloween and more Freddy, the claws of the nightyou may not know the very first horror film to establish the codes of the slasher is actually Black Christmasa fiction that is talked about too little and yet marks a real turning point in the cinema of anguish.

In the category of Christmas horror films, we therefore particularly appreciate The childrena film by Tom Shankland which obviously projects us directly into the holidays.

The Christmas Chronicles 1 and 2

Another Netflix movie! In The Christmas Chronicles, a little girl convinces her older brother to trick Santa Claus and catch him red-handed on the night of December 24th.

But things take on an unexpected dimension that will lead them to experience the best night of their lives. Contrary to what one might imagine reading these lines, it’s quite original and really funny!

Family spirit

Like every year, for the Stones, a whimsical and bohemian family, the Christmas holidays are an opportunity to get together under the same roof. Everett, his favorite son, has decided this time to be accompanied by his new girlfriend, Meredith, a pure New York careerist. The rest of the tribe immediately unites against the intruder.

Noelle is Santa’s daughter. When his older brother inherits the title and the hat, he proves totally ineffective and very poor at work, so he decides on a whim to go on a yoga retreat. A few days before Christmas…

Noelle will then try to bring him home and help him become a good Santa.

Gremlins

Billy inherits a mogwai, an absolutely adorable but wholly unlikely animal.

The creature’s former owner warned the boy not to expose it to light or contact with water, and NEVER feed it after midnight.

Obviously, our prepubescent boy isn’t going to listen to anything, otherwise there would be no movie.

Warning, if the Gremlins are adorable, maybe they shouldn’t be put in the hands of the little ones because they tend to get very scared when they get angry!
