‘I don’t know if she’s alive’: Britney Spears’ father speaks for the first time since scandal about his relationship with his daughter, custody and much more

Britney Spears’ father, Jamie, gave his first big interview after his daughter escaped 13 years of control over her life.

She shared her perspective on the story in an interview with The Mail on Sunday and talked about her daughter, her relationship with grandchildren Jayden and Sean, and more.

“Not everyone will agree with me,” Jamie said about his detention and his decisions, according to the Daily Mail. “Without this tutelage, where would Britney be now? And I don’t know if she would still be alive. I don’t know”.

“Guardianship was a great tool for her and also for the protection of the children. Without that, I don’t think he’s going to give the kids back,” she added.

About his relationship with Britney Spears

“It was a very difficult time. But I love my daughter with all my heart and soul,” said Jamie Spears.


About her relationship with her grandchildren Jaden and Sean

Britney’s father also spoke candidly about Jayden and Sean, whom he once referred to as his “first grandchildren.”

“I really miss my two sons,” she said. “You know, we were very close. They were old enough to start having a good time with them. But they developed their own intelligence. It’s been a rough three years without them.”

“The family is a mess. All we can do is keep praying. That’s all I can say. It’s better like this, but we have a lot more work to do,” he said.

Jamie Spears also hinted that Britney Spears was offended and said she would let fans speak out against her to protect her.

He added that his fear was that “my daughter will eventually fall into a bigger hole than she did.”
