The “Remnant” prop master requests release of Alec Baldwin’s deadly counter-charges

The prop master rust is seeking to be dismissed as a defendant in Alec Baldwin’s counterclaim over the fatal shooting of DP Halyna Hutchins last year.

In court papers filed Thursday with Judge Michael E. Whitaker, attorneys for Sarah Zachry argue that her client has been a New Mexico resident since birth and is not subject to the personal jurisdiction of the California courts.

“Zachry has never been a resident of California, lived or worked in California,” her attorneys say in their filing. “Ms. Zachary has not traveled to California for any purpose related to her employment or work on the production of ‘Rust.’ The last time Ms. Zachary visited California was in 2019 and she has not since did not return to California.

A hearing on Zachry’s application is scheduled for March 7.

You and three others – rust Gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez Reed, first AD David Halls, supplier of property and guns and cartridges to Seth Kenney – are named in the counterclaim filed Nov. 14 in Los Angeles Superior Court by the film’s star and producer Baldwin.

This was in response to a lawsuit from Mamie Mitchell, who rust Script supervisor was standing next to Hutchins when she was fatally shot on set in October 2021 with a prop cannon fired by Baldwin. This action also names suspects Zachry, Gutierrez Reed, Halls, Baldwin and the others rust producers.

Although Zachry is a defendant in Mitchell’s lawsuit, she was never served in the case, according to court documents filed this week by Zachry’s attorneys.
