Joe Biden criticizes Republicans for targeting Disney for its opposition to the “Don’t Say Gay” law.

President Joe Biden finds himself embroiled in a brawl between Ron Desant and Walt Disney Co. as the Florida governor prepares to sign a bill that will abolish a special tax district that includes Walt Disney World after the company has spoken out against a recent paternity law.

Opponents called the bill “Don’t say gay”. It prevents public school teachers from discussing sexual orientation or gender identity in K-3 classes. Opponents say the law is written too broadly and instead the landing team is looking to raise its public profile ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

During a fundraiser in Seattle on Thursday, Biden told donors, “There is nothing prudent in deciding that you will eliminate Disney from its current position because, Mickey Mouse? In fact, what do you think we shouldn’t say, gay?

“So what’s going on here?” He continued. “What the hell is going on? And that’s just it, so I don’t think it’s the vast majority of Americans.”

Disney opposed the law as it was initially publicly neutral, but sparked a backlash from law enforcement and state lawmakers. The Florida legislature this week passed a bill to seize a special district at Disney that would allow it to run its operations at Disney World. The Reedy Creek Improvement District was established by state law in 1967 when Disney began developing its large Florida property near Orlando. The district allowed him to make his own decisions on issues such as land use and infrastructure, as well as to manage services that would normally be the responsibility of local municipalities.

The away team is expected to sign the law soon.

Disney did not comment on the county repeal bill.
