Comedian Nurlan Saburov found himself in the middle of a scandal for his refusal to speak publicly against the Russian military special operation in Ukraine. It all started with criticism on the network, but eventually it came to the cancellation of concerts. Spletnik understood the situation.

Nurlan Saburov has faced criticism from fans for not speaking publicly against a special military operation in Ukraine. Nurlan’s colleagues did the same in the program “What happened next”: after the start of the conflict in Ukraine, none of them began to comment on the situation. The artists network criticized the fact that the author of the project is Vyacheslav Dusmukhametov, the creative producer of TNT, a TV channel owned by Gazprom-Media, and declared its silence.

Nurlan Saburov, not responding to angry comments on social networks, did not refuse to tour the United States, scheduled for April, with the concert “Principles”, despite criticism and a tense political situation. The first performance took place on April 8 in Los Angeles, and several viewers immediately interrupted Saburov and asked why he did not speak publicly about the events in Ukraine. At first Nurlan Saburov tried to laugh at this, but later explained why he did not answer questions about the political situation: he said from the stage.

A similar situation was repeated at the next concert: in Seattle, the audience immediately told the artist that it would be the same as in Los Angeles. In addition, people came out with Ukrainian flags to protest near the building where Saburov was speaking and shouting “Shame”.

Also, information appeared on the network that due to their position against military special operations, the audience was not allowed to attend Saburov’s concerts.
