For 71 years oldKirstie Alley has died of complications from cancer, her family has announced Monday 5th December. Revealed in the series Greetings in years 1980the American actress and producer was the winner of two Emmy Awards.

In a statement posted on Twitterher children Lillie Price Stevenson and William True Stevenson announced the sad news:
“We are sad to inform you that our amazing, hardworking and loving mother passed away afterwards a battle against cancer, only recently discovered (…) LOur mother’s spirit and passion for life, her children, her grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy in creating, are unparalleled and have inspired us to live life to the fullest as she did. »
John Travolta, her playmate in the 1989 romantic comedy Hi mom here baby he also paid tribute to him on Instagram by posting his picture with this message: “Kirstie has been one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had.. I love you Kirstie. I know we will meet again. »

Two Emmy Awards
Kirstie Alley was revealed as Rebecca Howe on the show Greetings broadcast on NBC between 1982 and 1993. Very popular in the United States but less known in France, the sitcom told the life of the regulars of a Boston bar. Kirstie Alley won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1991.
In 1994, she won an Emmy again for her portrayal of a mother raising her autistic son alone in the film Crazy Davidreleased in 2020 on Prime Video.
