World Cup ratings: England’s 3-0 win over Senegal in front of almost 20 million viewers on ITV

England’s comfortable second round victory over Senegal last night was watched by almost 20 million viewers on ITV, making it the most watched of the Qatar 2022 World Cup in Britain so far.

Over three and a half hours of play from 18:00 GMT (10:00 PST), the match, which ended 3-0 in England, was watched by an average of 13.4 million viewers.

England’s 3-0 win over Wales was followed by a peak of 18.7 million, just ahead of the 18 million who watched the 0-0 draw with the USA. played on a Monday afternoon.

England will now meet France at 19:00 GMT (11:00 PST) on Saturday in a much-anticipated clash that is likely to beat the odds of yesterday’s game.

The World Cup has so far produced large television audiences in both Europe and the US, breaking records for viewing Fox live sports in the latter.

The tournament has now entered the second phase and is halfway through the second round, with Brazil against South Korea and Japan against Croatia later.
