BBC Greenlight’s documentary about Europe’s only Mormon training centre

The BBC will feature the only Mormon training center in Europe in a documentary about religion and ethics.

The Mormons are coming [working title] follows three young missionaries as they arrive at the center in Chorley, Lancashire, where missionaries from the US, Europe and Australia are being prepared to work in the UK.

The mostly 18- to 25-year-olds spend three months training and fielding, facing the realities of missionary life as they prepare to be away from home for up to two years.

The Peggy Pictures documentary was one of three TV programs featured on the BBC Religion and Ethics List Next Door Humza Arshad – Find forgiveness [working title] and My Life at Christmas with Sally Phillips.

In the deeply personal former, the YouTube star, whose cousin was brutally assaulted by men who are no longer in prison, tries to understand how faith can lead to forgiveness. And in sweep Star Phillips’ Advent film series, comedian meets Reverend Richard Coles, poet Lemn Sissay and Be sure to come dance assesses Shirley Ballas to explore how her memories of Christmas reflect the massive changes they have undergone in their lives, careers, families and faith.

“The hunger for content about beliefs and convictions is greater than ever,” BBC head of religion and ethics Daisy Scalchi told television. “These programs can give us a unique perspective on some of life’s big questions, offer support and comfort during difficult times, and bring us together to celebrate important moments like Advent and Christmas.”
