“Starmania”, the cult musical dusted off by director Thomas Jolly

In this second episode of the Dramathis podcast, Mathis Grosos talks about the comeback of musical comedy by Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon.

“The world is made of stone”, “When we get to town”, “A boy like no other”, the cult titles of “Starmania” do not lose. The legacy is heavy and the expectations many for it memorable dystopia of 1979. It was to Thomas Jolly that the rights holders pitched the project. The director from Caen, then head of the Quai d’Angers, National Drama Center, then embarked on a long tour of the zeniths.

In this episode of Dramathis, Madmoizelle’s theatrical podcast, Thomas Jolly talks about the genesis of the project, the differences between public theater and private theater and the madness of this flamboyant staging.

Dramatic?

And if from the very beginning you liked the theater? Either way, that’s what Mathis, podcast manager at Madmoizelle and drama queen everywhere, thinks. Dramathis is a ten minute column to laugh, learn and dramatize every fortnight. Because life without drama is like a joke with no falls.

Dramathis is a fortnightly Madmoizelle podcast available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Deezer and all podcast platforms.
