During the summer, it was learned that Robert Downey Jr. will star in the movie based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Viet Thanh Nguyen’s novel “The Sympathizer”. The previous day, it was reported that HBO and A24 were working on a mini-series that would remove Killing Eve star Sandra Oh alongside Robert.

The showrunners of the project were Don McKellar and Park Chan-wook. Filming continues in Los Angeles and Thailand.
Recall that The Sympathizer was published in 2015 and was named the best seller of the year by The New York Times magazine. The book is about a man who became a double agent during the Vietnam War and sympathizes with both sides of the conflict. Later, he became a political prisoner in the United States.

The sequel to the novel The Comished was published in March 2021. The book is set in 1982 in Paris – where the protagonist arrives with his brother to overcome his past.
