Due to battling drug addiction and its consequences, Matthew Perry has decided to make up for the time lost in Hollywood and do whatever it takes. The actor recently finished writing the script for an upcoming movie and revealed that he had already turned down an opportunity to star in Zac Efron’s movie.
The actors had previously worked together on 17 Again, in which Zach played the younger version of Matthew’s character. Zach was going to get a role like this again in the new movie, but apparently he wasn’t interested in it.

“I finished the script that we showed some people. I want to direct it,” Matthew said in an interview with Jessica Shaw on SiriusXM’s Pop Culture Spotlight. I wrote it for myself and then realized I was 20 for the role. Now we’re trying to find the main characters.”
When Matthew was asked who he would like to see in the role, he replied, “Well, it was Zac Efron, but he said no.” That’s why we need to find someone to say yes to. And directing a movie that I thought would be good will be a completely new experience for me. I hope I will be successful,” he said.
