Activists of the Just Stop Oil movement, who oppose the use of oil as a fuel, poured tomato soup over Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” painting. Reported by Sky News.
The work is on display at the National Gallery in London. The two girls spilled two cans of tomato soup on the painting, then glued themselves to the wall with superglue. The canvas was not damaged – the painting was behind the glass. After the incident, the protesters were detained by the police.
