Cannes Film Festival lineup announced – Live update

Update to the latest…: After experiencing a pandemic for the past two years, and on the occasion of its 75th anniversary, the Cannes Film Festival is finally back in its usual May location. And so, the president Pierre Lescaut and the general delegate Thierry Fremo announce this morning the composition of the event at the UGC Normandie Cinema in Paris, on the Champs-Elysées. Among the subtitles of the stars that have already been confirmed for the red carpet is the sequel to Tom Cruise from Paramount / Skydance. Top Gun: Maverick (Especially with the festival cruise) and Warner Bros./Roadshow’s ElvisBuzz Luhrmann’s biopic about Elvis Presley with Austin Butler and Tom Hanks.

At first glance there is still no news on the president of the jury, nor do we know what will open the trial on May 17th (the festival will last until May 28th).

Widely used films include croissants three thousand years to go Directed by George Miller and starring Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton; and David Cronenberg crimes of the futureWith Leah Seidou, Kristen Stewart and Vigo Mortensen. Both directors would return to Cannes.

As we revealed earlier this week, one movie that will not be featured, but has also been suggested to be part of the official selection, is Disney / Pixar. light year. Likewise, David Lynch turned down the offer of a new film directed on the Riviera.
