I saw Gilbert perform in 1985 and when he walked in to the applause he said, “Thank you, thank you.” He then continued to say “thank you” over and over for ten minutes. It was the most nervous and fun thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m so sorry I lost this sweet and incredibly funny person.
