Milan Fashion Week has decided to “play” with its trump cards – namely from the Diesel show. Countdown, warning sirens… and the show has begun. On the runway, where giant inflatable statues (homage to the brand’s latest show) feature the heavy breathing sounds of Darth Vader, total-look models made of faded denim and deliberately aged leather take the runway. After that, fitted belted tops, oversized cargo, glowing dresses and ripped racer jackets appear in the arena.
In total, there were 70 looks in the collection, many of which were adorned with the Diesel metal logo, which managed to capture the likes of street style heroes and star girls (led by Julia Fox) last season. This time, Glenn Martens decided not to limit himself to one aesthetic and took inspiration from skateboarding culture, adding a biker vibe and diluting the explosive mix with couture elements. It also confirmed the trend of translucent textures (literally capturing the catwalks of New York and London fashion weeks).
We invite you to take a closer look at each painting in the collection and once again make sure that Glenn Martens is practicing magic outside of Hogwarts.
