Hello it’s the 8th wave of Covid, what is the protocol in schools?

The 8th wave of Covid would be falling on the territory. But what is the current and future protocol in schools?

It goes away and comes back. No, it’s not made up of little things, but it’s a lot of work. What are we talking about? Not Claude François (I hope you have the referee), but Covid and the umpteenth wave of him, ready to sweep the territory (+ 33% positive cases in one week)

If we have, relatively, been able to forget what the protocol in force in schools looks like in the event of a positive test, here is something to refresh your memory with the latest information provided by the government. Of course, everything can change as soon as the situation worsens.

Covid: what is the current school protocol?

For the moment, in schools, it is said that the protocol is “at the base”, that is, that the alert level is at a minimum. All schoolchildren are welcomed face to face, parents can accompany students to class, children or supervisors are not required to wear masks, and sports lessons are maintained. In the extracurricular hours, canteen or recreation, students can socialize and be together, in short, all this is very reminiscent of the time before Covid, and it feels very good.

But if the eighth wave has really arrived and the positive cases of Covid continue to increase, measures will be taken to limit the damage.

What if a student is a contact or positive case at Covid?

At the moment, here’s what we know: If the baby has symptoms, parents are asked to keep him at home and get him tested. If it is positive, it must be quarantined for 7 days. Quarantine can be reduced to 5 days if the child has no symptoms for 48 hours and his retest is negative.

For the child who is a contact case and who has no symptoms, he can go to school. But two days after learning that it was a contact case, a test will be required.

Finally, if the parent ever refuses to have their child tested with PCR or antigen in case of Covid symptoms or if he is in contact, the child must remain in isolation for 7 days.

Strength and honor to all, hoping that this eighth wave will soon break the margoulette.
