A senior Las Vegas area official was arrested this evening in connection with the fatal stabbing of a well-known investigative reporter on Friday night. more news.
Clark County Public Administrator Robert “Rob” Telles was arrested at his home tonight by a SWAT team as part of the investigation into the murder of Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German. The arrests came after police spent hours searching Teles’ home, where a hijacked SUV-looking vehicle was linked to the stabbed suspect: a red or tan GMC Yukon Denali.
Teles himself was observed at his home this afternoon. He was later arrested after a confrontation with police, according to ABC News. described as “self-inflicted injuries that are not life-threatening”.

Earlier this year, Germany filed a dispute in the public administrator’s office that included “allegations of administrative intimidation, favoritism and ‘inappropriate treatment’ of Teles’ subordinates,” the AP reported. it was a report reportedly partly responsible for Telles’ defeat in the June primary.
The Public Administrator’s Office manages the assets of people who die without a will or family contacts.
The 69-year-old German continued to report on the matter, filing a request for public documents by email and text message between Telles and Deputy Public Director Rita Reid, Real Estate Coordinator Roberta Lee-Kenneth, and Consultant Michael Murphy. Lee-Kenneth had previously been identified as a subordinate who would be having an affair with Telly.
The German was found outside his home on Saturday morning. Police speculated that he had been stabbed in an altercation the day before. The coroner found that the German died of “multiple blunt force injuries” and declared the case a homicide.
