What do you want to be when you grow up? A project to help you find yourself and choose a profession

For the fourth year in a row, Russia’s leading career guidance project “Ticket to the Future” helps schoolchildren choose their path in life and find their dream profession (after all, career guidance priorities are set by the head of state level). And in 2022, millions of schoolchildren, parents and educators across the country expect a range of expanded formats, both new and well-established. Together they form a single system that has no analogues in scale and efficiency in Russia. So, in the framework of the project “Ticket to the Future” the path of the child consists in getting acquainted with career guidance with the help of digital content, a two-stage diagnosis of career guidance based on the unique developments of domestic scientists, “Integration Profession”, which in the simulator mode makes it possible to choose suitable occupations for the selected indicators of the child. The “Festival of Professions” is a multimedia exhibition in task format, which offers testing opportunities with the participation of employers, covers 90%. It was created on the basis of many years of experience of the project “Russia – My History” to get acquainted with the labor market and hundreds of professions.

The digital platform of the bvbinfo.ru project has been updated by 50% – tools for teachers, children and parents appeared here. The testing system has become even more efficient – now the child, after getting acquainted with the professions, evaluates his strengths and development potential at the very beginning, as well as his personal characteristics, during repeated tests. And there is a “Maker of the Future” for teachers – it opens up new opportunities to conduct a career guidance course based on individual indicators of both individual children and the whole class.

By the way, in September, as part of the project, the first career guidance series in Russia will be presented, which will introduce schoolchildren to the inspiring experiences of people from different fields and professions.

One of the innovations of the system was the analytics module “Ticket to the Future” – it allows you to use data for the scientific study of vocational guidance in Russia, predict the future potential of regions, influence the adoption of global staffing decisions, and, thanks to dozens of metrics, track the effectiveness of vocational guidance in a given geographical location by year .

In the new academic year, part of the materials of the “Ticket to the Future” project will enter the life of Russian schools in the form of a minimum career guidance recommended by the Ministry of Education. “For teachers, this is an opportunity to occupy a new professional niche, become one of the drivers of direction and strengthen career guidance work among children and parents after reviewing available tools.” Humanitarian Projects Foundation.

A few numbers: Since 2021, the result of the project work has been 641,595 registered on the platform, 21,309 career guidance courses, 390,530 children who attended the classes, 79,667 schoolchildren who visited the Future Lab exhibits.

Tickets to the Future participants say: “Thanks to the project, I made a firm decision to become a teacher. I love children very much and I am sure that I will be a very good teacher” (Fatima Magomedova), “Participating in the project helped me not to make mistakes in choosing a career in the future. Now I’m studying at university and I definitely know that I’m on the right track!” (Alena Korzanova), “It is difficult for a student to decide on the profession he wants to go to. But very interesting. I always felt which way I was being pulled. And of course, career guidance tests have also been one of the important points. One of them was at the venue of the festival of professions of the Ticket to the Future project, I looked and realized that this is what I really wanted to do. And I think it was one of the defining moments in my professional career, which was just beginning” (Elizaveta Kravchenkova).
