Exclusive: Former ICM Partners agent Justin Ongert has joined the APA as Senior Vice President of Alternative and Factual Programming. He will serve as the department’s primary liaison with the talent, comedy and music divisions, reporting to Kyle Loftus, head of content development, and Hayden Meyers, APA’s head of alternative and factual programming.
Ongert is the 10th agent / director and the eighth senior vice president to join APA from ICM Partners following CAA’s takeover of the agency. This is more than recruiting ICMs from other agencies, as APAs were the most aggressive ICM agents and executives available via takeover.
At ICM, Justin represented Wanda Sykes and her production company Push It alongside Paige Hurwitz, longtime client producer / director and co-founder of Push It, as well as talent such as Laverne Cox, Kristin Chenoweth, Bobbi Burke, Keltie Knight, Soleil Moon Fry and Elizabeth. Chambers, along with production companies and producers including Brian Graden Media, Fat Camp Films, Corey Palent, Sarah Skibitzke, Chris Ahearn and Graham Shaw.
He also represented several clients who started working RuPaul’s Endurance Race Including Emmy-winning producer and judge Michelle Visage and entertainers Trixie Mattel, Bob the Drag Queen and Sasha Velor, as well as MTV cast members. I disturb Including Nicole Snooki Polizzi, Tori Spelling and Adam Rippon.
Justin is an outstanding agent with 18 years of success at ICM and WME and his addition, along with Seth Lawrence, Ryan Wackerman and Kathy Kolben and their Emmy winning clients, greatly strengthens what we are building at APA. Loftus and Meyer.
Ongert joins the Factual and Alternative Programming department along with former ICM SVPs Seth Lawrence and Ryan Wackerman and agent Katie Kolben. Additionally, the APA involved ICM SVPs Mitch Blackman, Mike Hayes and Chris Smith from the Music and Comedy Tour, Andrew Rogers as Head of Global Talent, Talent Agent Phoebe Burnham and Director of Communications Brad Turrell.
