Academy member asks Will Smith to return ‘Oscar’

A few days ago, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences suspended Will Smith from his activities for 10 years. Now the actor will not be able to participate in the Oscars, but he can be nominated for an award.

But academia Harry Lennick thinks that’s not enough. A spokesperson for Variety wrote that Will Smith should “voluntarily” return the Oscars.

“The Academy’s decision to suspend Will Smith from the Academy Awards and other events for 10 years as punishment for slapping Chris Rock is nothing short of a long hiatus for a bully on the playground,” began Harry Lennick.

“Right now, the only person who can restore the integrity of the Oscars is Smith himself. He has to realize the gravity of his crime by slapping The Rock alive in front of millions of viewers on the awards ceremony stage. Smith is required to send his gold trophy back to the Academy by Express Mail and publicly say something like, “Out of respect for this high honor of its 94-year history, I conscientiously do not consider myself worthy to own it.” Written by an academy member.

Recall that during the Oscars, comedian Chris Rock was slapped in the face for telling a bad joke about Will Smith’s wife, Jada.
